The Regional Cooperation on Reproductive Rights is a regional initiative supported by the International Visegrad Fund, bringing together partners from Central Europe to advance dialogue, education, and cooperation on sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) and gender-based violence (GBV).
The project consists of a series of interconnected activities across Hungary, the Czech Republic, and Slovakia, combining public events, educational programs, and advocacy initiatives.
In September 2026, a two-day Reproductive Rights Festival will take place in Budapest.
Building on the success of the 2024 edition, the event will provide a safe and inclusive platform for open discussions on SRHR and GBV, feature research presentations, expert panels, roundtable discussions, and interactive workshops, bring together 6 civil society organizations and 12 experts in women’s rights and SRHR, and engage more than 200 participants from Budapest and other regions
Czech Republic – Festival on Gender-Based Violence
The Czech partner, A.S.A.P. – Abortion Support Alliance Prague, will organize a one-day festival as part of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence (November–December 2026).
This event will bring together activists, NGOs, and experts, focus on the intersections of GBV with reproductive rights, menstrual poverty, obstetric violence and include panel discussions, workshops, networking sessions, and a film screening
The program aims to strengthen cooperation and knowledge exchange among civil society actors in the Czech Republic.

Slovakia – School of Human Rights and Gender Equality
The Slovak partner, Freedom of Choice, will implement a multi-cycle educational program focused on sexual and reproductive rights, access to abortion, gender equality advocacy, and capacity-building and networking
The initiative connects activists, service providers, policymakers, media, and the public, contributing to long-term capacity building in Slovakia.
PATENT Association (Hungary)
PATENT Association is a Hungarian women’s rights organization founded in 2006. It provides legal support and advocacy in cases of gender-based violence and works to improve access to sexual and reproductive health services, including abortion.
A.S.A.P. – Abortion Support Alliance Prague (Czech Republic)
An activist collective advocating for reproductive justice and accessible abortion care for all, regardless of background or identity. The organization has extensive experience in organizing public events, workshops, and advocacy campaigns.
Freedom of Choice (Slovakia)
A leading Slovak organization advocating for reproductive rights and access to abortion for over 25 years. It combines advocacy, research, and education to influence policy and public discourse.
The project is co-financed by the governments of Czechia, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia through Visegrad Grants from the International Visegrad Fund. The mission of the fund is to advance ideas for sustainable regional cooperation in Central Europe.
